Greetings

Thanks for purchasing a seat for one of the SuperMeet Workshops.

This e-mail is the last in a series you will receive reminding you that you have indeed reserved a seat, and to inform you as to what to expect when you get to the MBCC on Friday January 27, 2012.

Please read the following carefully as it will answer most of your questions and prepare you for your session(s).
Note: Everything is subject to change.

Currently there are a seats left for the Canon, Blackmagic Resolve and Light Iron sessions. All Adobe sessions are filled to capacity and a wait list will be available on site Friday morning. Tell a friend!

What if I need to cancel?
If for any reason you need to cancel please forward your ticket to someone you love and will use it. We cannot issue refunds.

Arrival
Arrive at the Mission Bay Conference Center at least 20 minutes before your class begins with a printed copy of your workshop ticket. (if you lost it do not worry. Just give your name) Head for the 2nd floor and sign in for your designated class(s). Eat a good meal before you arrive. There is a Cafe at the MBCC open from 8AM until 8PM and sandwich shops nearby should you be hungry. Coffee and Tea and water will be available throughout the day, or until we run out.

If you have purchased a ticket to the SuperMeet, you can pick up your badge and raffle tickets at the same table. Bring your SuperMeet Ticket confirmation or your name.

Each classroom seats 40 people and will be set up theater style which means if you want to bring your laptop it will have to rest on your lap and be fully charged.

There is FREE wifi available at the MBCC. But it’s slow and spotty.

SuperMeet Update
If you have NOT purchased a ticket to the SuperMeet we urge you to do so, assuming you can attend. It is the SuperMeet ticket sales that allow us to offer these affordable workshops. Tickets will be available on site Friday.

As of this writing we have plenty of tickets left for the SuperMeet and need all the help we can get to sell them. Our Marketing budget is “no budget,” so we need to rely on each other to get the word out. Tell everyone you know about the SuperMeet. Let’s fill this place up.

SuperMeet Digital Showcase
The doors open to the SuperMeet Digital Showcase featuring 26 vendors and Open Screen Theater at about 3:30PM, so there will be lots to do and watch and lots of people to hang with if you find yourself having nothing to do in the afternoon. The agenda is set and a current list of raffle prizes,(over 33K worth) and a link to buy tickets can be found on the SuperMeet web page.

Transportation:
A PDF containing Driving, Parking and Transit directions and instructions to the MBCC can be downloaded here:

http://www.lafcpug.org/mbcc_DrivingDirections.pdf

MUNI requires an exact fare, quarters are best. A system Map of Muni and the T Line (Red) exit UCSF/Mission Bay can be downloaded here:

Please make arrival and departure plans since not everything runs all night. Also parking at the MBCC costs a bunch of money as is typical in San Francisco so prepare for that.

That’s about it for now. If you have any questions or concerns simply write us.

Workshops during the day and SuperMeet at night. It’s going to be a great way to spend a Friday in San Francisco.

See you Friday, January 27, 2012 and tell everyone you know to get their tickets for the SuperMeet.

(From Your Local FCPUG) Eleventh Annual San Francisco SuperMeet: Here is all you need to know

Greetings

This is the third and final in a series of emails updating you and reminding you about the 11th Annual FCPUG San Francisco SuperMeet to be held at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center on Friday, January 27, 2012. Doors will open at 3:30PM for the HUGE SuperMeet Digital Showcase and Open Screen Theater and SuperMeet presentations begin at 7:00PM.

This email contains essentially the same info as the last 2 emails. But read it anyway. It will give you all you need to know.

If for any reason you cannot attend the SuperMeet simply forward your ticket confirmation email to someone you love and let them attend on your behalf. If you lost your ticket confirmation email, no worries. Just state your name at the ticket registration desk when you arrive. Do your best to attend this event. Yo uwill not want to miss it!

Please read the following carefully so you know what to expect. Come with a smile on your face and a desire to learn and meet one another. Chances are you will have a memorable time.

Those of you who arrive at the SuperMeet before 5:00PM will get 2 extra raffle tickets, so plan on getting to the SuperMeet early. You will want too. There are 26 software and hardware developers to visit with and many of them are making really good deals.

SUPERMEET WORKSHOPS
There are still seats left for the Blackmagic Design Resolve, Light Iron and Canon and Workshop sessions. Grab them while you can:

http://sf2012workshops.eventbrite.com/

OPEN SCREEN THEATER. GET SEEN! BRING YOUR VIDEO AND SHOW IT!
For the third time ever we have added an exciting component to the SuperMeet. You will be able to showcase your video in what we are calling the “Open Screen Theater.” Here is how it works.

* Show up early and bring your content on a DVD or a h.264 file on a thumb-drive. (No streaming or huge uncompressed files)

* Make a mad dash to the Open Screen Theater inside the Fisher Banquet Room where the SuperMeet Digital Showcase is located.

* Sign up and wait your turn. Your movie can be no longer than 10 minutes.

* There will be someone to play your video.

* We have a 13-ft screen 7K lumens 1024×768 native projector.

* Audio will be available, but your video will NOT be able to be played loud so as to not overwhelm the room. The more visual your video, the better it will play to those watching.

* Make sure you have your contact info on your video. You never know who will be watching.

* Be courageous. Show off! Sign up for the Open Screen Theater.

WHAT’S ON THE SUPERMEET AGENDA?

The Agenda is now set and you can view it on the SuperMeet web site: It is going to be a GREAT show, one San Francisco can be proud of.

SUPERMEET DIGITAL SHOWCASE
In addition to a great show we will once again have a vendor area we are calling the “SuperMeet Digital Showcase,” with 26 software and hardware developers. Most of these companies will be making really good deals as well as solving a lot of your problems. And this is the reason we are opening doors at 3:30PM.

FOOD AND DRINK
Free food, (snacks) and Cash Bar will be available beginning at 4:30PM. Cash Bars open at 4:30PM and food begins being passed out at 5:00PM. Food runs out quickly so eat something before arrival.

WORLD FAMOUS RAFFLE
Yes, once again we will have the World Famous Raffle where we will give away over $33,000 of dollars worth of prizes to dozens of lucky winners.

EXTRA RAFFLE TICKETS
Extra raffle tickets will cost $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00 at the door if you so wish. (Cash only) A Bank of America ATM is near the T Line Station of Mission Bay/UCSF.

You may purchase up to 24 extra raffle tickets, but may only win ONE prize. This means if you are lucky enough to win more than one prize, you must either trade in the prize, or keep what you won earlier. The current raffle prize list can be found here and its growing every day:

http://www.supermeet.com

CAN I BRING A CAMERA?
Yes. We encourage you to do so. No flash photography or tripods are allowed. Be respectful of your neighbors and do not upload any videos that contain copyrighted material. Those are the only rules.

TRANSPORTATION:
A PDF containing Driving, Parking and Transit directions and instructions to the MBCC can be downloaded here:

http://www.lafcpug.org/mbcc_DrivingDirections.pdf

MUNI requires an exact change fare of $2.00, quarters are best. A system Map of Muni and the T Line (Red) exit UCSF/Mission Bay can be downloaded here:

http://transit.511.org/static/providers/maps/SF_712200722845.gif

Give yourself plenty of time to get to the SuperMeet especially if the weather is bad. Also parking at the MBCC costs a bunch of money as is typical in San Francisco so prepare for that.

HELP US
There are still plenty of tickets left and we need your help. Tell everyone you know about the SuperMeet and tell them to buy their tickets now. We need to fill this place up and we need all of you to help us between now and January 27. Spread the word.

See you all soon. It’s going to be a great show and a great time and we all deserve it.
