My Final Day In San Francisco

As many of you have known, January 31 is my very last day of my life in San Francisco. And no matter how I don’t want this day to come, it actually comes. I’ll be heading to the SFO tonight, the place where I first landed as a teenager 10 years ago. I can tell you that I have mixed feelings right now, it’s hard to describe in a few words, but I really have that reluctant feeling, especially when the day is getting closer and closer. Of course today is the last day, that feeling is even stronger.

I know I will be missing a lot about San Francisco, so in the past few days I went to many places around the City that I’ve never been to before, Telegraph Hill, Fort Mason, Mount Davidson, just to name a few. Why I’ve never been to those places even for 10 years? This is human nature, when something is near you, you won’t cherish, but when something is about to leave you or you’ll be missing it, then you know it’s treasure. For example, yesterday I went to the Mount Davidson, the highest point of San Francisco. It’s really a beautiful scene right there, when I climbed to the top of the hill, I could see a good portion of San Francisco that I have never seen like that before. Very beautiful scene there, so I took many video footage to save this best memory, also I could tell people that I have been to the highest point of San Francisco! The only imperfection was the weather. It was so cloudy yesterday, and there was a lot of low clouds and fog around the City, especially when I was at the top of Mount Davidson, the clouds were just above my head, so I could only shoot a few good video footage there.

All right, I think this should be my last blog post in San Francisco. I know I have been saying this many many times, I want to say thank you to all my friends and anyone who worked with me before, you all taught me a lot of things and I learned many things from you. You’re always my best friends and I’ll miss you all. Right now I just want to say “till we meet again”! I’ll start writing the blog again when I arrive in Macau, so my website and blog will be continued, even I’ll no longer in San Francisco, okay?

P.S. I will be frequently updated my Twitter and report my whereabouts starting tonight, so be sure to follow me on twitter @victorleivideo to get all the latest.

Some video that I shot yesterday…

iPhone 4S / Canon 5d MKII Side by Side Comparison

Take a look on this video, the pictures that were shot with the iPhone 4S were quite impressive. With today’s smartphone devices we can shoot HD videos and the quality is pretty good. Remember? Not many years ago we could only use our cell phones (not smartphones, smartphones were not that popular in the early 2000s) to shoot 320×240 frame size videos. Technology has really changed tremendously, and it keeps evolving everyday. Maybe sometime in the future, we wouldn’t have to spend thousands of dollars to buy a pro video camera, an iPhone or a smartphone would fit our needs.
